Kite Season

It’s windy season; the transition time between rainy, rainy, RAINY + dry(ish)
With the wind comes the kites.

Creativity bent out of rattan, string, and waxed paper.
The kites are so very fragile, and takes hours of work.

There are airplane kites, bird kites, sweet potato kites, bat kites, stingray kites, and plain kite kites.

Everyone has kite fever; every afternoon the field is packed with kite fliers and kite watchers.

We strain our eyes to catch a glimpse of the tiny flash of fragile color sailing up so very high into the deep blue sky.
